Purpose: Simple tab utility offers unit-by-unit conversion.
Simple tab is the most used conversion utility. The utility is common for in integrated and multi-tab mode (only difference is the SI buttons).

How it works (...simply of course;) 1. When you enter the tab (or change source dimension in integral mode), the source is interpreted to extract the units of measurement. 2. SicyonUC Pro creates conversion category thread for each known unit, with positive exponent above and with negative exponent under the division line. 3. You can change the source or target part of any conversion thread, as well as the magnitude of the category exponent. The result is calculated automatically. |

The conversion thread is possible only for root categories with core and factor units only. In other words, conversion thread will not be created for sup. and comp. categories, nor if there is rule conversion unit in that category. The matter of fact, it is possible, if you have only one unit from non-factor category.
To change the sign of the exponent you need to enter edit tab (or edit mode in integral mode).
Any SI button will switch to SI (core) unit of that category. The buttons are visible only in multi-tab mode.
The name "simple" is rather historical, in previous versions "simple units" were the units with factor conversion.
